Awaroa Cab Franc 2022

Crafted as a 'softer, elegant style', the 2022 vintage (5*) is already delicious, but well worth cellaring. Estate-grown and hand-harvested, it is a blend of Cabernet Franc (86 per cent), Merlot (7 per cent) and Malbec (7 per cent), matured in old French oak barriques. Full-coloured, it is weighty, sweet-fruited, savoury and supple, with well-ripened blackcurrant, red berry and spice flavours, gentle tannins, and impressive depth, complexity and harmony. Best drinking 2026+.
