Awaroa Adamo Syrah 2022

Since 2008 Awaroa has produced 10 Reserve Syrah vintages. We only produce the wines when the quality is exceptional. These wines are released under the Melba Peach label or, if especially high quality as "Adamo".  All these wines have scored 5 stars in Michael Coopers Buyers Guide. Wines that have achieved five "5 star" reviews are considered "Super Classics".

2022 Awaroa Adamo Syrah
(92% Syrah, 4% Malbec and 4% merlot, 40% new oak. 14.6% alc) 

This is a world class Syrah. It is a dark wine, papal purple in colour. On the nose it has vanilla creamy notes with lovely Black Doris plum, chocolate, blackcurrant, and blackberry aromas. The palate is rich and complex with notes of tar, liquorice, dark chocolate, dark fruits, Christmas cake and clafoutis tart. The first impression is of terrific concentration on first impressions, but it continues to build in the mouth. The wine is incredibly complex with no single component dominating. It has powerful ripe tannins with a good lingering finish. Our best Syrah yet and will age wonderfully for 10+ years.
